Planning applications form an intrinsic part of the building development process, without the necessary planning consent, buildings cannot be constructed.
Some building development can take place using ‘Permitted Development Rights’, however, this needs to be carefully checked with the relevant local planning authority (LPA) and confirmed by them in writing.
LED Architects have an excellent record of successful planning applications across the South West and beyond. We regularly make pre-application submissions in order to establish ‘common ground’ with planning officers before the formal application is made. This approach normally leads to a positive outcome for our clients, reducing the risk of abortive work and costs.
In addition, LED Architects regularly undertake Listed Building Applications for works affecting historic buildings on the Historic England register. This may also involve works within Conservation Areas. Separate applications are required for works within our National Parks or within the site of an Ancient Scheduled Monument.
